I haven't written an entry about this yet. I'm almost shocked that I now am.
Zachary Guy, rest in peace, my friend.
I will miss your smile, and I can't imagine going to GSA or German without you there. Next year, I'll be taking some classes at LHS, I'll have to see your empty seat. Your empty seat at lunch, and on the bench. When I got the news it was the first time in over three months that I cried. I was driving home and the radio played "how to save a life" by the Fray. The street went blurry, I should have pulled over but I didn't care. I got home and collapsed. Broke down. Today I was looking through the new website at some old stories. Your picture was there. Imagine that. You were smiling. I looked at that smile so many times, and now all I have is a piece of cold grey stone, and patchy grass. I wanted to say something beautiful for you. But I find that when I most need them, my beautiful words have slipped away; gone into some void.
